Thanks for the interest! The process for chalkboards is a little different from calligraphy, since each piece is an original, one-of-a-kind design:
- First thing is to contact me and share as much information about your ideas as possible - deadline, size, style, text, theme, and of course whether it will be a mural or an individual board. Feel free to ask about matching your wedding or brand colors, or incorporating your logo. Every project is different, and we'll chat back and forth - over email, phone, or if you're local, coffee - until the vision is clear.
- Then, a 50% non-refundable retainer confirms your order and secures your spot on my calendar.
- After that, I'll take to my sketchbook and draw up a sketch of your sign, making decisions about the layout, lettering style, and any illustrations to be included. You can expect to see your sketch(es) by email within 7-10 days of making your deposit. One round of revisions is included; additional revisions may incur a $25 fee per round.
- When you are happy with the design, I will send a refined drawing that acts as a final proof for you to approve, and I can begin on your order.
- I'm familiar with last minute craziness. In the off-chance I have an open spot in my calendar, I'd love to help you out if I can. Please provide all the details you can about size of your board, design inspiration, and the content HERE, and I'll let you know ASAP if I can take it on. - The benefit of hiring a professional, is that I have the knowledge and materials that work for various surfaces. I will use the best supplies for each piece to ensure your sign can withstand certain elements and situations.
- Typically, you - the client- or your planner will provide the board for me to letter, and I supply the rest. However, I do not mind finding a piece for you or renting one from my small collection. Please inquire about this service for an estimate. View the rental collection HERE.
